Dr. Kourtney's Community Circle-- Rebalance Strength Training Session

Building and maintaining muscle is one of the most important long term health strategy to use over your life. Just as you need time to relax you also need time to challenge your body. This Rebalance Strength Session is a great way to challenge your body as you start your day. During this 25 minute class you will challenge your body, work up a good sweat and hopefully enjoy a surge of energy as well!

There have been several studies that have looked at the benefits of strength training for hormonal balance and aging. As we age our hormonal levels decrease which can lead to an acceleration in cellular aging secondary to many mechanisms. Studies have investigated the acute hormonal response to resistance exercise with different intensities and volumes in women. It found that high-volume, high-intensity resistance exercise led to the greatest increases in testosterone and growth hormone in women. This means that a high frequency, high intensity resistance exercise pattern may help you to maintain and possibly even increase your hormonal levels as you age when others are naturally declining (1)

What is the Community Circle?

Dr. Kourtney’s Community Circle was created as a love offering to our community. Circles represent the connectedness of everything in nature and in holistic healing all body systems are also interwoven and connected. Dr. Kourtney established this global Community Circle to create a safe and equitable space for the community to be able to come together on a regular basis to participate in different activities all geared towards healing of the mind, body and the spirit. Although everyone walks an individual journey to their most optimal health sometimes it can be beneficial to come together for some activities for group support. All Community Circle classes are free to members of Dr. Kourtney’s community (which is also free to join!).

The class is taught by exercise trainers on Fiit and is powered by the Fiit platform who has generously structured their platform to allow for this healing community experience.

 

About the workouts

We utilize the Fiit platform to deliver some of our community circle classes because the platform really encourages the ability to privately work out in your own space while still supporting you through community. Remember as a Community Circle participant you don’t have to pay 1 dime to join our space and participate in any group classes that we schedule on the Fiit platform.
